1. Information used by the app
To provide personalized hydration tracking, SipPal Water may use information you choose to enter and information created as you use the app, including:
- Profile information: age, gender selection, weight, preferred name, and your penguin’s name.
- Routine and lifestyle information: wake time, bedtime, activity level, sweating, habits, barriers, motivations, and relevant environment selections.
- Hydration information: daily goals, water intake records, cup size, reminders, progress history, and achievements.
- Health-limitation selection: whether a healthcare professional has asked you to limit fluids, and a clinician-set goal if you choose that path.
2. How SipPal Water uses this information
SipPal Water uses this information on your device to estimate a general daily hydration goal, show daily and weekly progress, schedule reminders, personalize encouragement, and calculate achievement progress.
Hydration estimates are general wellness guidance. They are not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
3. Local storage and optional iCloud settings sync
Your profile, routine, hydration records, goals, reminder settings, achievements, and pet progress are stored locally on your device. SipPal Water does not transmit this information to our servers, to iCloud, or to an app-managed cloud database.
Your operating system may include app data in a system-level device backup according to your device and backup settings. SipPal Water does not operate or control those backups.
SipPal Water offers an optional iCloud Settings Sync feature, which is off by default. If you enable it, the app sends only your in-app language selection and measurement-unit preference to Apple’s iCloud key-value store so those two settings can stay consistent across devices signed in to the same Apple Account.
This feature does not send your preferred name, profile, weight, health-limitation selection, clinician-set goal, hydration goal or records, reminders, achievements, or pet progress to iCloud. You can disable it at any time in Data Management. Disabling it stops the feature and asks iCloud to remove the two synced preference values. Core features do not require an account or iCloud Settings Sync. iCloud availability and processing are controlled by Apple and are subject to Apple’s terms and privacy practices.
4. Notifications
If you allow notifications, SipPal Water schedules hydration reminders using your selected waking hours, interval, and profile preferences. Notification permission can be changed at any time in your device settings.
5. Advertising, analytics, and third parties
The current version of SipPal Water does not use third-party advertising or analytics services to receive your profile, lifestyle, or hydration records. SipPal Water does not sell this information. Optional iCloud Settings Sync is provided by Apple and is limited to the two preferences described above.
If you email support, your email address and the information you include are transmitted through your email provider and our email service provider. We use support messages only to respond, troubleshoot, protect the service, and retain necessary correspondence.
6. This website
This website does not set advertising cookies or use behavioral analytics. Hosting infrastructure may process standard technical request data—such as IP address, user agent, and request time—to deliver and secure the website.
7. Children’s privacy
SipPal Water is intended for users aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly request personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has sent information to us through support, contact us so we can take appropriate action.
8. Security and retention
We take reasonable measures to protect information we control, but no electronic storage or transmission method is completely secure. Core app data remains on your device until you delete individual records, reset SipPal Water, remove the app, or your operating system handles it through a device backup.
9. Your choices and rights
You can edit profile and preference information in SipPal Water, remove individual hydration records, disable notifications, disable iCloud Settings Sync and remove its two synced preference values, or reset all local SipPal Water data from Data Management. Depending on your location, you may also have legal rights regarding support communications or other information we hold.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as SipPal Water changes or legal requirements evolve. We will revise the effective date on this page when we make changes.
